O<\/span>rganoPor is a research project for the development of innovative thermal insulation made from inexpensive and mass-available natural materials. The objective of OrganoPor is to develop insulation systems that are thermally insulating, self-supporting and flame retardant. Furthermore, the insulation material should beCO2-neutral<\/sub> or evenCO2-negative<\/sub> through recycling and thus contribute to climate protection.<\/p>\n<\/div>

The insulation is achieved using naturally occurring materials. The desired insulating effect can be achieved by selecting and pretreating suitable natural materials. The open-pored structure enables the regulation of water vapor permeability. <\/p>\n

Effective fire protection<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n

The natural materials are bonded together using a bio-based resin and pressed into boards. The boards are fire-retardant so that the insulation boards produced have effective fire protection. <\/p>\n

OrganoPor insulation boards are made fromCO2-neutral<\/sub> raw materials. They are dimensionally stable, inexpensive and available in sustainable quantities. This means that even large construction projects can be efficiently and cost-effectively equipped with ecological thermal insulation. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>

The technological approach of OrganoPor<\/h3><\/div>

The technological approach of OrganoPor is to coat natural materials with flame-retardant bio-resin and thus process them into insulation boards. OrganoPor boards are intended to be competitive with conventional insulation boards and could be used in the same way for external thermal insulation composite systems in the future.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Thanks to the use of mass-available natural materials, OrganoPor is inexpensive and can be used in large construction projects. As a raw material for OrganoPor, harvest residues that have hardly been used to date are to be used. In this way, OrganoPor aims to support environmentally friendly agriculture and forestry and make a contribution to climate protection – without using renewable raw materials such as wood that are urgently needed elsewhere.<\/p>\n<\/div>
